Leslie Cheney-Parr received her MA from the University of California at Berkeley, and has taught adults for over 30 years. She has master signature status with the California Watercolor Association (MCWA), signature status with Watercolor West (WW) and Rocky Mountain National Watercolor (RMNW); she is a juried member of Lake Area Artists, Print Arts Northwest (PAN), Portland Art Museum Rental Sales Gallery, and a member of the University of California Art Alumni Group, and the Watercolor Society of Oregon. After 10 years as a Community College Instructor at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Leslie has retired to PAINT. Presently she is a full-time artist competing in national exhibitions, while she and her husband enjoy traveling.  She is a printmaker, watercolorist and an avid sketcher.

Leslie will be in the gallery for our Print Sale Sunday January 27th from 12:00 to 2:00 demonstrating the linocut process. This demonstration is free and open to the public, all are welcome to join.

The Rental Sales Gallery, Portland Art Museum recognizes and honors the Indigenous peoples of this region on whose ancestral lands the museum now stands.

These include the Willamette Tumwater, Clackamas, Kathlemet, Molalla, Multnomah and Watlala Chinook Peoples and the Tualatin Kalapuya who today are part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, and many other Native communities who made their homes along the Columbia River.

We also want to recognize that Portland today is a community of many diverse Native peoples who continue to live and work here. We respectfully acknowledge and honor all Indigenous communities - past, present, future - and are grateful for their ongoing and vibrant presence.
