The gallery could not run without volunteers. Please fill out an application via the Portland Art Museum’s website. Your application will be held for three months during which time you will be contacted when an opportunity arises that meets your skills, schedule, and preference. Once contacted, the next step will be to undergo the Standard Orientation in which you will be taken on a tour of the various jobs that volunteers do, given a presentation on the policies of the Museum, and interviewed.
Afterward, if you are still interested in joining our team, there will be a separate gallery specific orientation, followed by a training session. The length of time between filling out the initial, online form and starting to volunteer will vary.
