Rent Art

Woman admiring artwork in the gallery

The RSG makes art accessible to everyone. Not only do we sell original works by local artists, but we rent them at a fraction of the cost. Here’s how it works:

Step One:
Become a member of the Portland Art Museum

Renting art from the RSG is one of the many perks of museum membership. Memberships can be set up here or we can do it in the Gallery with you.

Step Two:
Find a piece you love and bring it home.

After three months, you have the option of renewing the piece for an additional three months (six months total). For a small fee, RSG also offers delivery and installation services in the Portland Metro area.

Step Three:
At the end of the rental period, return the piece and swap it out for something new!

And if you ever find something that you just can’t part with, you can also purchase it! 50% of what you’ve paid for the rental will also be put towards the purchase price. As well as this, we also offer flexible, interest-free payment plans. Just ask a member of the team and we will be pleased to assist you!

The Rental Sales Gallery, Portland Art Museum recognizes and honors the Indigenous peoples of this region on whose ancestral lands the museum now stands.

These include the Willamette Tumwater, Clackamas, Kathlemet, Molalla, Multnomah and Watlala Chinook Peoples and the Tualatin Kalapuya who today are part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, and many other Native communities who made their homes along the Columbia River.

We also want to recognize that Portland today is a community of many diverse Native peoples who continue to live and work here. We respectfully acknowledge and honor all Indigenous communities - past, present, future - and are grateful for their ongoing and vibrant presence.
