Rental Sales Gallery Rehang – Inspired by the Oregon Coast

June 22, 2019

Over the last week, we’ve undertaken a complete rehang of the gallery, which is what we’ll be celebrating in today’s blog. Inspired by our collaborative exhibition with the Cannon Beach Arts Association, which opens today and runs until August 4th, we are showcasing the dazzling variety of works created by our artists, who have been inspired by the coast.

On display on the walls is an incredible range of styles and mediums, showing the many different ways that our artists have responded to the natural environment. With works ranging from delicate landscapes to bold abstracts to atmospheric photographs, this is an exciting new show which we are very proud of. We hope that you enjoy it too!

Thank you to our amazing volunteers, who have worked so hard over the past few days, in order to prepare the space and hang the works. We hope that you enjoy this preview of what you can see on your next visit to the gallery. If you see a work on the walls that you love, you can find out more at our Artists page on our website or by calling the gallery on 503-224-0674.

Happy summer!

The Rental Sales Gallery, Portland Art Museum recognizes and honors the Indigenous peoples of this region on whose ancestral lands the museum now stands.

These include the Willamette Tumwater, Clackamas, Kathlemet, Molalla, Multnomah and Watlala Chinook Peoples and the Tualatin Kalapuya who today are part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, and many other Native communities who made their homes along the Columbia River.

We also want to recognize that Portland today is a community of many diverse Native peoples who continue to live and work here. We respectfully acknowledge and honor all Indigenous communities - past, present, future - and are grateful for their ongoing and vibrant presence.
